Director of Engineering

You are in charge of engineering. You lead the frontend, backend and QA volunteers, set technical standards, review what ships and keep the codebase healthy as more people contribute. You work closely with the Director of Design and the CPO.
What you will do
- Lead the frontend, backend and QA volunteers
- Set code standards and review architecture decisions
- Plan engineering work with the CPO and Director of Design
- Keep releases stable and the codebase maintainable
- Mentor engineers and unblock them quickly
What we are looking for
- Strong full-stack experience (React, Node.js, MongoDB or similar)
- Experience reviewing code or leading a project
- Clear communication and good judgment on trade-offs
Nice to have
- Experience managing or mentoring other developers
- CI/CD, testing or deployment experience
